Psychologists have discovered that while reading a book or story, people are prone to subconsciously adopt their behavior, thoughts, beliefs and internal responses to that of fictional characters as if they were their own.
Experts have dubbed this subconscious phenomenon ‘experience-taking,’ where people actually change their own behaviors and thoughts to match those of a fictional character that they can identify with.

“After a few weeks of not seeing Big, I was beginning to fall into some familiar patterns of my own: staying out til 3 and sleeping til noon, ordering takeout from the same greasy Chinese, and calling old friends who would always be there for me when I was feeling…restless.”

Why “douchebag” is an awesome insult:

niaili:

When you call someone a douchebag, what you’re literally saying to them is,

“You think you’re so great, but your existence is actually totally unnecessary and your main function is probably toxic. Also you shouldn’t be allowed near anyone’s genitalia.”

Went to see my car yesterday morning. He doesn’t look too bad; just this and his front bumper is also completely gone.

I’m way more sore than he is, lol.

Last night

Last night, on my way home, my tiny car decided to hydroplane on the interstate and into a gaurd rail.

Nothing is broken, well, except for my car. I’m just sore as all fuck and will be having muscle relaxer cocktails for the next few days.

And the mushy part:

Kyle came to the hospital at like 1 in the morning. What an AWKWARD way for him to meet my parents…

My life is funny.

I am beautiful. Not for a black girl. Not for a dark skinned girl. I am simply beautiful. Ok?

I'm Ariel. I'm a 22 yr. old English major, hoping to be a writer of sorts one day. I like books more than most people, wines more than most liquors, cats better than dogs, and the inside more than the outside. This tumbler is just another attempt to keep up with my thoughts and hopefully share one or two of them with someone who cares.
